Our maintenance workshops are for everyone, whether or not you know how to use a spanner. All bike are welcome whether it’s a carbon fibre speed machine or it has pink tassels on the handlebars! Run in conjunction with The Turning Hub, Richmond’s mobile bike club, we’ll show you how to fix a puncture, find out where that annoying knock is coming from or adjust your brakes and gears so they run smoothly. We supply the tools and expertise, you supply the bike and the elbow grease. Our workshops are geared towards getting people to have a go at fixing their own bikes to demistfy even the most complex task. And of course it will save you money.
Bring your bike, use the tools and learn basic (or more complicated) bike maintenance. Tea (and if we’re lucky, biscuits) on ready supply! There are proper bike stands available and you can tune your bike up yourself, or to get some help from our qualified mechanics.
Some small parts are available for sale (e.g. cables, brake blocks), but you are welcome to bring your own parts if you need us to show you how to fit them.
All our sessions are free but donations are welcome to help use pay for new tools, parts and of course the tea and biscuits! No need to book – just turn up on the day.
If you like fettling and fiddling with bikes, why not come along and help others learn?
